Job Description

Purpose of the Job

The Applications Manager – Entity Administration’s primary responsibility is to oversee the effective operation of the Group’s primary line of entity administration applications to ensure they align with and support the Group’s objectives.

The AM-EA will plan, coordinate, and design all operational activities of the Entity Administration applications team, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The AM-EA will work closely with decision makers in other teams and departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the Entity Administration Application team’s operational and strategic planning including business requirements, project planning and organising and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • In conjunction with the other IT Managers in the group, manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all Entity Administration application systems including but not limited to TrustQuay NavOne, Viewpoint, Pastel, EBT platforms and other related supported systems including risk and compliance screening tools.
  • Where necessary, re-engineer systems design to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning and strategic vision.
  • Define and communicate project milestones and resource allocation to department leads, support staff and end users.
  • Develop, review and monitor budgets for the team and application portfolio ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines and objectives for the Group.
  • Review the performance and functionality of application systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels and upgrade requirements and rationalisation opportunities.
  • Benchmark, analyse, report on and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT applications in the group.
  • Negotiate, administer and monitor vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Authorise and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance and support of all software based on department needs.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Oversee technical support services in relation to applications ensuring adherence to the IT department’s service level agreements.
  • In conjunction with the other IT Managers in the group, develop and implement all relevant IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, service provision and audits.
  • In conjunction with the other IT Managers in the group, practise asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment as required.
  • Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions for the Entity Administration applications team.
  • Establish and maintain regular communications with the department heads and end users regarding IT activities.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies.
  • Any other such duties that might be reasonably required for this role.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience in an IT operation in a regulated financial services business or similar industry.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and development, project management and policy development.
  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of NavOne, Viewpoint or similar systems in a financial services industry.
  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Microsoft SQL, PowerBI and Azure cloud.
  • Experience with systems design and improvement initatives from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience of team leadership.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
  • Ability to conduct research into IT issues and products.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • A willingness to support the future growth and success of the Group.
