Role summary/purpose of job

Freshfields is a high-touch, intensely client-focused organisation. The Marketing and Business Development function operates in a dynamic environment with many stakeholders. There is a healthy component of “rolling up sleeves and doing” in the role. It is also a highly collaborative team and the individual will be required to influence and support colleagues on a daily basis, working with colleagues across global communications and the wider marketing and business development team, and beyond, to deliver excellent results for the business.

There are many aspects of the role’s scope which will take the form of offering counsel and advice, so a collaborative, consultative, inclusive working style is paramount. Similarly, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships within a partnership environment are essential.

There are significant delivery elements to the role, handling time-sensitive internal requests and specific messaging strategies to be articulated and advanced in support of the firm’s business activities in a wide range of markets, sectors and practice groups. Support prioritization of incoming activity and constant evaluation of output – ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout

Provide strategic internal communications counsel to leaders and colleagues across the firm

Responsible for inspiring internal content creation and delivery to increase effectiveness and engagement – including ongoing channel development to boost two-way engagement and where relevant, inclusion of user-generated content. Inclusion

Freshfields is an equal opportunities employer and all applications received by the firm will be considered based on their merit alone and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of background. All offers of employment will be conditional on the candidate having/securing the right to work in the UK and providing the firm with evidence of that right (as required by the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006) prior to employment commencing.

Freshfields is a Ban the Box employer. We ask applicants to disclose criminal convictions only when a conditional job offer is made. A conviction does not automatically lead to withdrawal of the offer: we make decisions on a case-by-case basis and take a number of factors into account (e.g. the role you are applying for and the circumstances of the offence). You would have the opportunity to discuss the matter with us before we make a decision.
