The Role

As Head of Internal Communications, you will be a strategic advisor for AXA XL’s leadership team working in partnership with them and the wider communications and brand team to enable and embed the company’s growth ambitions and strategy within our organization.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment across multiple business units and functions to create a compelling internal communications approach, aligned to our Communications & Brand strategy, translating initiatives into compelling content to engage, motivate and encourage two-way engagement with our global workforce.

You’ll be an exceptional people leader who, in addition to managing a team in a period of change, will inspire, empower, develop and coach them throughout their career at AXA XL.

This is a hands-on role where you will think strategically and execute collaboratively across a dynamic company.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

As a key member of the Communications and Brandleadership team, you will actively contribute to shaping and delivering the overall Communications & Brand strategy. Responsible for developing and driving the overall AXA XL internal communications and brand vision and strategy, leading change management communications initiatives, and driving innovative approaches to employee engagement. Lead internal communications activities for the organization that deepens employee engagement through developing ongoing targeted and tailored communications aligned to our strategic business priorities. Act as strategic counsel and partner for the senior leadership and divisional leadership teams. Line manage a global team, providing leadership and guidance to the internal communications team, driving high performance, consistency and professional excellence. Develop and nurture individuals within the internal communications team to foster a culture of trust, collaboration, innovation and professional growth. Develop an internal communications team proposition that strengthens and builds team capabilities as strategic advisors to leadership. Manage day-to-day activities that make the best use of the resources and skills available for maximum impact. Create internal communications that support building a positive and inclusive organizational culture, where employees are proud to be a part of AXA XL. Build effective cross-functional relationships and facilitate effective collaboration between the internal communications team and the wider global organization. Lead, develop and oversee the internal channel management strategy, ensuring our channels are optimized to effectively engage and inform our diverse multi-generational employee communities. Identify new communication tools and technology to streamline internal communications processes. Collaborate and partner with the wider communications team to support business wide announcements and campaigns, ensuring internal and external brand communications alignment. Work closely with the External Communications and Brand teams to create and implement integrated content strategies for key campaigns, projects and events. Craft compelling copy for company briefings, whether delivered in-person or through film or other channels. Tailor briefings to match the distinct leadership styles and preferences of individual executives, ensuring a seamless and impactful communication experience for the audience. Active contributor to our Employer Brand working group, working alongside HR and Brand to develop and deliver compelling content to attract, develop and retain talent. Work with AXA XL’s Global Social Media Lead and Data and Analytics team to design measurement systems that actively track content performance, using audience insights and data analytics to drive a culture of continuous content improvement within AXA XL.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

Extensive experience leading global internal communications functions, as well as working in a highly regulated industry Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering effective internal communications strategies to global audiences. Ability to advise, influence and support senior leadership teams and work effectively across a matrix organization. Knowledge of communications and business processes, preferably in a financial services company or B2B environment Extensive experience in team leadership.Proven track record in regard to motivating, inspiring and developing individuals, as well as building highly collaborative, positive and effective teams. Able to travel as required.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

Second language would be beneficial.
