The applicant must be enthusiastic and motivated to lead in a busy acute environment. They should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to organise and prioritise workload, be an effective, approachable leader and have a history of managing change and developing a safety culture.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality nursing care and continuing responsibility for the management of Dixon ward.

To provide direction and leadership to the nursing team.

To implement and manage effective change management.

Establish and maintain effective professional networking relationships with the multi-professional team across ULHT.

To take operational responsibility for the effective utilisation of all appropriate resources.

To work closely with the MDT and educational teams in the overall delivery of safe patient care. To deputise in the absence of the Matron.

To act as a site nurse for the hospital on a rostered or ad hoc basis
