This is an exciting opportunity for a band 7 ward sister/Charge Nurse to lead a caring and compassionate team specialising in the delivery of Gastroenterology.

We provide the highest quality of nursing care to both male and female patients. Dixon specialises in acute medicine and has a planned intervention unit called Saxon suite for day case patients which is currently part of this exciting ward leader role.

The applicant must be enthusiastic and motivated to lead in a busy acute environment. They should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to organise and prioritise workload, be an effective, approachable leader and have a history of managing change and developing a safety culture.

To provide high quality nursing care and continuing responsibility for the management of Dixon ward.

To provide direction and leadership to the nursing team.

To implement and manage effective change management.

Establish and maintain effective professional networking relationships with the multi-professional team across ULHT.

To take operational responsibility for the effective utilisation of all appropriate resources.

To work closely with the MDT and educational teams in the overall delivery of safe patient care. To deputise in the absence of the Matron.

To act as a site nurse for the hospital on a rostered or ad hoc basis
