Safran Helicopter Engines are the world's leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines and the only one dedicated exclusively to this market.
Our UK facility is the European Maintenance Centre Hub for the SHE Group, performing level 1 to level 3 maintenance and repairs on complex helicopter engine components. Our experienced teams partner with our broad, global customer base, providing both technical expertise and broader support in both the fixed wing and rotary wing markets.
What will I be doing?
The procurer / buyer / MRP controller responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining purchase orders for both purchased parts or services and sub-contracting activities in accordance with production requirements to meet our customers' expectations (internal & external)
- Coordinating and communicating with internal departments is crucial in maintaining delivery expectations and managing partner relationships.
- Provide support and services to support the business needs ensuring product availability and maintain master data including source lists, PIR/contract agreements, LOT sizes, lead-times and on-time delivery.
- Provide regular forecast to our suppliers maintaining relationships to ensure purchase orders, deliveries and stocks are aligned with business requirements
- Ensure that products and services meet the requirements of customers, quality standards and airworthiness authorities.
- Work in accordance with HSE legislation, the Company Operating Systems, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the Company Values & Behaviours.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and working practice and take responsibility for implementing these.
- Responsible for maintaining SAP master data, part number and vendor master data as MRP controller for designated part numbers & commodities
- Own and manage the Buy Report to ensure orders are placed on time, within lead-time and in line with commodity strategies
- Actively manage the MRP exception message report as part of daily activities ensuring delivery requirements are adhered to
- Analyse each suppliers On Time delivery and Quality performance and work with suppliers and other functions as necessary to drive improvement in supplier performance
- Compile suppliers scorecards on a monthly bases and distribute to each key supplier where applicable in alignment with the (strategic buyer)purchaser
- Work with the Quality department and adhere to the supplier approval process when approving new suppliers
- Prioritise tasks and objectives set by Manager or team-leader on a daily basis as appropriate
- Participate in monthly/quarterly business reviews with the management team
- Review range of different materials and sizes

Job Requirements
What do you need from me?
- English and Maths GCSE's grade A-C
- Ideally CIPS
- Engineering qualification is desirable
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- SAP knowledge and experience (MUST)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise work load
- Excellent attention to detail
- Appreciation of heat-treatments, tensile strength, nitriding processes
- Creation of forecasts and communication with the supply chain to ensure short , medium and long term requirements are considered
