Job summary
The postholder is an experienced nurse, who acting within their professionalboundaries, will provide care, screening and health promotion information forthe presenting patient. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-makingand expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with themulti-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients,supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. They will continue to followtheir current job description and in addition to this will be expected to provide lead and manage educational nurse programmes across the PrimaryCare Network. The role will willdeveop, provide and faciliate effective nursing education and completency basedtraining for Nurses Student Nurses, other Nurses in training
The post holder will also provide line management support forthe nursing team including one to one supervisions and annual appraisals. They will also offer specialist knowledge tosupport organisation strategy, recruitment, retention and workforce planning.
Main duties of the job
Establish, review, and develop operationaleducation provision for the nurses and support the provision of education forhealthcare workers across the organisations.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish, review and develop operational education provision for the nurses and support the provision of education for healthcare workers across the organisations

Education and Training:
Facilitate the development of additional healthcare education in response to service requirements- locally, regionally and nationally
Facilitate the development of professional development programmes for staff and the whole nursing team
Developing training and development plans for new nursing staff, existing nursing team and Alliance practice nursing teams.
Enable the use of learning tools such as digital platforms
Oversee the application process for study leave and additional courses in line with the organisations learners agreement guidance
Facilitate effective learning across the nursing team and organization by acting as a resource and role model to staff
Facilitate the development of professional development programmes for staff and the whole nursing team
Act as mentor for staff and students, assessing competence against set standards
Oversee the student nurse placement scheme, provide support and mentorship to placements and provide support and training to other staff members undertaking a mentorship role
Prepare an annual report of output from the nurse training Growth / Change
Work collaboratively with higher education institutions and specialist education groups
Promote positive culture of excellent patient care, team working and compassion to new groups of staff
To work with BMG management to develop any new business initiatives which may involve changes to and development of the educational needs of the nursing team
To work with BMG management to develop the nurse team structure
Maintain own professional registration and practice within the NMC Code of Professional Practice and undertake clinical practice to maintain active registration, be responsible for planning and assessing patient care when working in the clinical setting as well as delivering care whilst training other staff in their delegated role and supporting staff to deliver patient care.
Promote evidence-based practice through the use of the latest research-based guidelines and the development of practice-based research.
Monitor the effectiveness of their own clinical practice through the quality assurance strategies such as the use of audit and peer review
Participate in continuing professional development opportunities to ensure that up-to-date evidence-based knowledge and competence in all aspects of the role is maintained
Record accurate consultation data in patients records in accordance with the latest NMC guidance and other pertinent standards
Keep up to date with pertinent health-related policy and work with the practice team to consider the impact and strategies for implementation
Work collaboratively with colleagues within and external to the practice.
Overseeing cervical cytology audit of inadequate smear rates
Demonstrate leadership Organisational responsibilities:
Undertake an annual appraisal for each member of the nursing team, ensuring CPD plans are monitored and executed in line with practice strategy
Disseminate learning and information to other team members in order to share good practice and inform others about current and future developments (eg courses and conferences
Participate and contribute to meetings within the organization, provide feedback and action as necessary
Motivate colleagues and self to contribute to effective, efficient and economical use of resources
