About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

We are looking to recruit a new ‘Head of People’ to join our team. This position will lead a HR team and have responsibility for the delivery of a high-quality HR partnering service. The Head of People will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop an effective people strategy to include resource planning, industrial and employee relations, ED&I, engagement, performance management and building organisational capability.

This position will be required to translate people strategy into a commercially focused, legally compliant, people plan to support delivery of work to be carried out on behalf of HS2.

The Head of People will partner, guide and advise key stakeholders to ensure the application of excellent people practices throughout operational delivery and ensure that there is a strong culture of engagement and positive employee relations.

This role will also facilitate continual organisation design and analysis to ensure the structure meets the changing needs of the project. In addition, this position will work in conjunction with HR functions within parent companies to ensure adherence with relevant contractual terms of employment and the development of best practice policies as appropriate.

This position will be a proactive lead on industrial relations matters with key stakeholders and supply chain, including Trade Unions, to ensure effective working practices.

The Head of People will provide regular, timely and accurate reports (to agreed formats and timetable) on people matters for both internal and client stakeholders and take a pro-active approach and reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others.

About You
  • CIPD qualified
  • Extensive experience within a HR leadership role
  • Demonstrable knowledge of people practice and legislation
  • Previous experience in a construction or operational environment is desirable
