Energy Market Modelling Consultant

What will you be doing?
Designing solutions to the complex problems our clients in the energy industry face and present these solutions in an accessible mannerPlanning and delivering all aspects of project work, from bid writing through to final deliveryDemonstrating an in-depth understanding of the UK electricity market and the implications of energy market developments for modelling and analysisHelping develop and grow the business in new areasManaging junior members of the teamWhat skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
A strong background and experience in the UK electricity market in an analytical role and possess a 2:1 degree or better in a numerate subject, e.g. mathematics, statistics, computing, engineering, economics or equivalentGood grounding in the methods involved in long term power market forecasting, as well as the ability to sense check model resultsComfortable leading a project team of ranging seniority and line managing junior team members to contribute to their growth and developmentBe able to demonstrate initiative in every aspect of your work and be creative in developing original solutions to problemsStrong communication skills. An essential part of this role is to be able to communicate effectively both orally and in written communicationsBe confident, have good presentation skills and be able to explain complex issues to othersHighly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and have experience in using electricity market modelling softwareAbility to manage your work effectively, initially with help from other team members, to ensure that you complete the work assigned to you efficiently and on timeWhat’s in it for you?
