We are seeking an experienced Energies and Commodities Expert to join our team at Lane Clark & Peacock. As a key member of our energy market modelling team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality solutions to our clients in the energy industry.

About the Role

  • You will design and implement effective solutions to complex energy market challenges, communicating your insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • As a project lead, you will oversee all aspects of project work, from bid development to delivery, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional client satisfaction.
  • You will demonstrate a deep understanding of the UK electricity market, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and implications for energy market modelling and analysis.
  • Apart from your technical expertise, you will also contribute to business growth by identifying new opportunities and developing strategies to pursue them.
  • Your leadership skills will be essential in guiding junior team members, helping them grow professionally and achieve their full potential.

Requirements

  • A strong background in the UK electricity market, preferably with analytical experience, and a degree in a numerate subject (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computing, engineering, economics) or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of long-term power market forecasting methods, including the ability to validate model results and ensure accuracy.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing project teams of varying seniority and mentoring junior team members.
  • Able to think creatively, initiating innovative solutions to complex problems and presenting them effectively to various audiences.
  • Superb communication skills, enabling you to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • A confident presenter, able to articulate intricate concepts to diverse groups and individuals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience with electricity market modelling software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
