Main duties of the job
We are currently recruiting for a highly skilledPsychologist or Specialist Psychotherapist able to provide Eye MovementDesensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for individuals experiencingpsychological distress following an admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinarycritical care team to provide specialist psychological services to patientshave been admitted to critical care, in agreement with the Leads for CriticalCare and the Clinical Health Psychology Service.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Conduct a remote clinic once aweek, seeing up to 3 patients. Provide EMDR therapy and otherappropriate psychological interventions for individuals experiencing distressdue to ICU admissions. Conduct comprehensivepsychological assessments, identifying the specific needs of each patient todevelop and implement tailored treatment plans. Monitorand review patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensureoptimal outcomes. Provide support and psychoeducation to patients to aid their understandingof their psychological difficulties and the therapeutic process. To participate in ClinicalGovernance processes in the specific service and in the Clinical HealthPsychology Service. Provide evidence-basedpsychological interventions for patients referred within the critical caredepartment. An emphasis with be on theassessment and treatment of patients at high risk of psychological distress andtrauma. Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- Training and experience in EMDR therapy. - Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with strong organisational and time management skills. - Experience working within the NHS or similar healthcare setting. - Experience in working in multi-professional teams - Post-qualification specialist experience working with complex needs.

Qualified Clinical Psychologist or Specialist Psychotherapist with full registration and accreditation with the appropriate regulatory body (, HCPC, BABCP, UKCP).-
