About the Role:

As a Senior Specialist Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality psychological interventions to clients with complex problems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Skills: You will be responsible for assessing and treating your own specialist caseload of clients with mental health issues, behaviours that challenge, personality difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, and neurological problems. This includes working with their families and paid carers in various settings.
  2. Policy and Service Development: You will contribute to developing policy and strategies for delivering specialist psychology services within our multidisciplinary team.
  3. Leadership and Supervision: As a senior clinical psychologist, you will provide professional support, guidance, and clinical supervision to other clinical psychology staff, including clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, and undergraduate placement students.
  4. Training and Research: You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and providing clinical supervision for a specialist clinical training placement for trainees on postgraduate Doctoral Courses in Clinical Psychology from the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter. Additionally, you will provide specialist consultation, advice, and clinical supervision to non-psychology staff on psychological understanding, interventions, and evaluations.
  5. Teaching and Development: You will develop and deliver teaching on psychological work and care for trainee clinical psychologists and qualified members of clinical psychology and other professions within Livewell Southwest.

Key Requirements:

You must have excellent communication and relationship skills, with the ability to manage an appropriate caseload while negotiating and managing waiting lists for assessment and treatment. You should also be able to conduct and supervise research and audits, collaborate with universities on setting up and conducting Doctoral-level long-term research projects, and maintain accurate service statistics and records.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits.
