Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Psychologist to join our Inpatient Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and evaluations to individuals admitted for inpatient care.

About the Role

The Senior Mental Health Psychologist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing a range of applied psychology models and tools. This includes conducting neuropsychological assessments, providing consultation, teaching, and advice to ward staff, families, and other professionals working with older adults.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced psychologist to make a significant contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and evaluations for inpatients.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct neuropsychological assessments and provide expert advice on complex cases.
  • Supervise junior psychologists and contribute to the development of psychology services.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation and research activities.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualifications in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
  • Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Postgraduate qualification/training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, or Mindfulness-based Therapies.
  • Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
  • Significant experience in assessing and treating older adults with mental health problems and dementia.
