Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Compliance team as a Communications and Trade Surveillance Officer. This role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their compliance experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. The Compliance Team is small, providing opportunities to be involved in a wide range of compliance workstreams.


Responsibilities:

- Take ownership of the trade and communications surveillance function for a regulated entity consisting of brokers.

- Lead the completion and implementation of the trade surveillance system.

- Review daily alerts on the SteelEye Comms Surveillance system, tracking and escalating issues to the Head of Compliance.

- Provide monthly reports on alerts and escalations for senior management.

- Ensure that business communications are consistently recorded.

- Respond to regulator or exchange requests.

- Support training and daily interaction with brokers.

- Assist in updating the Market Abuse Risk Assessments.

- Be prepared to undertake other ad hoc compliance work with support from the Head of Compliance.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

-The successful incumbent will have experience from a regulated financial services institution

- Significant experience in a communications and surveillance role.

- Previous experience in a commodities business is advantageous.

- Strong writing skills with the ability to organize and structure complex ideas effectively.
