Eaton Syalon are partnering exclusively with an impressive owner-managed SME in Derbyshire to hire a HR Manager in to their business. This is a stand-alone role and is truly generalist in its areas of responsibility including employment law, contracts, disciplinaries, grievances, recruitment support, sickness, absence and performance management. Ideally suited to a talented HR Advisor wishing to step up, or a tenured HR Manager keen to work with a great leadership team in a thriving small business.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Employee Relations management
  • Working with key areas of the business recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Partner with managers in the business on all Company HR related policies/procedures.
  • Continuous improvement of HR systems and practices, reviewing and updating company policies when necessary.
  • Coordinate staff appraisals, reviews, and probation meetings.
  • Supervise Absence Management cases/Oversee performance management process.
  • Support as required with the disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Support with Learning & Development efforts, including working with external training providers to coordinate course attendance
  • Maintaining and updating the HR Information Systems, including administration around all starter/leaver information
  • Influence positive employee relations across the business to maintain and improve business output requirements and ensure increased employee engagement
  • Partnering with Owners/Leadership team on strategic HR initiatives and projects across the business


As HR Advisor or HR Manager you will have experience within a standalone or small team environment already and have an in-depth knowledge of Employee legislation and HR best practice. You are Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and enjoy the challenge of managing a range of responsibilities and situations. This role is full time, however if you require a degree of flexibility this will be considered. Qualification is less important than experience you can bring
