Overview: Mitie is seeking an HR Manager to lead and support our operational management team in effectively delivering people policies and processes for over 300 employees. This is a highly regulated secure operating site, with a unionised work force. You will have a direct link to the central HR function within Business Services to maximize your knowledge and resources and to develop within your role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and Mentoring:
  • Proactively coach and mentor managers at all levels.
  • Provide pragmatic and commercially focused solutions on people issues to meet business objectives.
  • People Plan Development:
  • Develop and implement the People Plan within the contract.
  • Operational Support:
  • Work closely with the Operational Management teams on BAU HR items including case management, recruitment, onboarding challenges, culture, and engagement.
  • Resource Planning:
  • Support resource planning, recruitment, and onboarding activities.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Lead people compliance activities to ensure full contract compliance.
  • Stakeholder Relationships:
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Act as the first point of contact for senior management as required.
  • Talent and Succession Planning:
  • Develop and nurture talent and develop succession plans.
  • HR and L&D Activities:
  • Cascade One HR and L&D activities, including communication and implementation.
  • Manage and lead management upskilling across all levels


Person Specification:

  • Experience:
  • HR professional with experience in a commercially focused highly unionised environment.
  • Experience in IR is essential
  • Experience managing high volume recruitment is desirable.
  • TUPE experience is preferred but not essential.
