Role: Head of People, Permanent, Hybrid, up to £66K


Memcom recruitment has been tasked with finding a talented and highly motivated Head of People for a prestigious professional body based in central London.


As the Head of People, you will play a pivotal role in leading the HR function and managing the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures. You will be responsible for all aspects of HR, including recruitment, induction, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, and reward.


Additionally, you will provide strategic advice on corporate policies and strategies, with a focus on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and wellbeing.


You will work alongside a senior leadership team that values commitment, innovation and ambition; active accountability; and empathetic leadership.


Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team on all HR policies, procedures, and working practices.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning processes within the organization.
  • Develop a HR strategy that aligns with the organizational strategy and promotes the recruitment, retention, and development of a high-performing workforce.
  • Support the senior leadership team and managers in change management processes, lead complex HR change projects, including restructuring initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest employment laws and ensure all HR policies, procedures, and working practices are compliant.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and line managers to understand ongoing and future recruitment needs.
  • Develop and implement organization-wide team and individual development initiatives to address the needs of the organization.
  • Manage and support employee relations cases, including sickness absence, redundancy, disciplinary issues, grievances, and family leave.


About you:

  • We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in leading HR functions and implementing HR strategies within a the no for profit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in managing employee relations cases and providing advice to senior management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
