Team outline:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an industry-leading Bids team who are well respected. The team is based across the UK but connect regularly and have a strong culture. Led by the Proposal Manager and sponsored at an executive level by the Director for Pre-Sales; the team are championed and highly thought of. Each team member has an individual development plan unique to them with clear career pathways. Work volumes are typical of a bids team in the workforce solutions industry. However, the types of responses vary and range from capability PowerPoint decks, to RFIs and due diligence questionnaires to complex RFP processes.

Role outline:

You will be part of a bids team of 3. You will also be trained in our IT services business and required to support the other Proposal Associates when volumes necessitate and vice versa. The types of content you will produce include PowerPoint presentations, RFP responses in word or PowerPoint as well as questionnaire responses (usually in excel). There may also be an element of SOW writing in the role which you will be trained on.

As a Proposal Associate you will work Senior Sales, Delivery, Commercial and Finance leadership across EMEA. This role is suited to a self-starter who can manage multiple projects at once, whilst remaining calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with all levels of stakeholders, running bids from end to end and will proactively provide progress updates and communicate transparently. They will have integrity and conviction and are confident compelling business-sensitive documents ready for submission.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the bid process for stakeholder briefings, white boarding sessions, response drafting, reviewing, and finalising.

• Taking responsibility for RFP responses in answer to SOW requirements and guiding the bid through to completion, often project managing more than one process at once.

• Producing high quality written responses to client questions, based on in-depth knowledge of our own business and services.

• Engaging with all areas of our business, specifically our Consulting arm specialising in Financial Services (specifically providing resources and delivering outcomes within financial crime operations).

• Actively contributing to design and format of the bid and challenging/validating decisions against the client brief.

• Diary management and excellent time keeping skills are a necessity, as is the ability to keep attendees honest to a meeting agenda and length.

• Working with the sales lead to develop the unique value proposition of our response as well as key sales messaging in accordance with specific client requirements.

• Maintaining a sound understanding of the operational environment with extensive product knowledge.

• Managing all outputs and submissions in line with brand guidelines and required formatting.

• Actively contributing to the best practice of bid and content management across the business by updating and maintaining the centralised content portal.

• Developing unique and creative approaches to communicating bid solutions across document formats, finding new ways to express concepts with strong visuals.

Core Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work to brand guidelines.

• Software skills include:

o MS Word

o MS PowerPoint

o MS Excel (basic to intermediate level)

o Adobe Acrobat (for editing and compiling PDF documents)

• Navigating and uploading content to procurement portals such as Ariba, SAP Fieldglass and Globality.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure in a professional commercial environment.

• Proven understanding of either Recruitment, Consulting, Outsourcing or Sales.

• Must work well under pressure and can handle multiple projects at once.

• Communicates well with colleagues of all levels and responsibilities.

Competencies & Experience – Essential

• 1-3 years’ experience of a sales organisation, preferably in IT Consulting, IT Outsourcing, IT Services or IT Sales.

• Familiarity with the bids process and writing succinct sales content either in marketing form or for a RFP response.
