NOTE: This is a senior strategic sales and business development manager. Candidates will need to have gained experience working within a product development company (e.g. automotive tier 1 or tier 2) aligned to complex electromechanical / electronic products.


Our client has various ongoing electronics product development programmes with automotive OEMs Worldwide. They seek an experienced technical Business Manager / Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to support the business unit director. The role will involve direct and indirect management, development and growth of OEM accounts and their profitability.

NOTE: A technical background or qualification (ideally a degree in electronics) will be required.


Involved / Required: Sales and Business Development Manager


  • You will interface directly with automotive OEM customers and lead high level negotiations and assist with improving customer relationships.
  • Experience of identifying and winning new business and developing existing accounts (hands-on)
  • Experience gained within automotive electronics tier 1 or tier 2 companies would be required (ideally electric vehicle systems e.g., battery, inverter, etc, or potentially cockpit domain controller, OLED display, Powertrain ECU, BMS, or similar.)
  • Experience of working directly with automotive OEMs from within a technical sales, business development or account management capacity.
  • A good technical background (ideally electronics -able to hold high level technical discussions with engineers) along with excellent communication, commercial and negotiation skills.


More – Sales and Business Development Manager

The company’s automotive products are electronic focused hence a technical understanding and demonstrable experience working within automotive electronic vehicle technologies would be preferred (e.g. electric vehicle systems, battery systems / BMS, or potentially cockpit domain controller, OLED display, infotainment, or powertrain electronics.)

You will support the business unit director and directly interface with OEM customers in all aspects of commercial and sales discussions. You will also be supported by strategic business development, account managers and product support teams.


Experience / knowledge required: Senior Strategic Sales Manager

  • Ideally qualified in electronics, mechatronics, automotive engineering or similar
  • Experience of working directly with automotive OEMs within technical sales, business development or account management capacity (ideally within a tier 1 supplier)
  • Experience gained within automotive electronics tier 1 or tier 2 companies would be required (ideally electric vehicle systems e.g., battery, inverter, etc, or potentially cockpit domain controller, OLED display, Powertrain ECU, BMS, or similar.)
  • A good technical background (ideally electronics -able to hold high level technical discussions with engineers) along with excellent communication, commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Proven business strategy, high level sales negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • to take a lead and be responsible for customer engagement and able to identify and scope strategic business development opportunities.
  • Experience of commercial account management, Forward Model Quotation Development, strategic negotiations, and cash flow would be needed.


The role will be based out of the company’s Midlands based office in Leamington Spa and will require frequent travel to customer offices within the UK and possibly Europe on occasions.
