DEVELOPMENT & PARTNERSHIP EXECUTIVE

Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Development & Partnerships, this role is fundamental in the management and development of the Company's advertising portfolio. The Executive will be responsible for proactively managing the Company's long-term contracts, building mutually beneficial business relationships, taking the initiative to organically develop new business opportunities, assisting in tender submissions and renewing existing business in line with company requirements.

The Executive will also be required to establish strong relationships with designated points of contact within key sectors, including:

  • Local Authorities
  • Transport Authorities
  • Corporate and Private Landlords
  • Telephony

Impact

External Relationship Management

  • Proactive management to build and maintain strong, enduring client relationships
  • Develop new private and corporate sector relationships networking with other key professionals both internally and externally that will help JCDecaux expand its portfolio as desired
  • Liaising with internal departments ensuring clear commercial understanding and focus on required deliverables
  • Working side by side with the Head of Development & Partnerships and taking initiative to monitor, maintain and outperform upon JCDecaux's strategic objectives

Pro-active Approach

  • Understand and develop industry knowledge and be fully conversant with competitors and their development strategies
  • Ability to identify new opportunities in a considered manner, research land ownership, planning history, development potential and commercial value
  • Monitor and communicate individual contract performance
  • Develop relationships at a senior level with both existing and potential Partner organisations
  • Understand the key business requirements for commercial partners that are tendering opportunities

Task Management and Data Handling

  • Regular dialogue with the Projects team to ensure projects land on time and that any challenges are overcome, whilst always ensuring forward planning and communication with our Partners
  • Attend site visits as and when required with Sales, Marketing, Development and external clients
  • To develop an understanding of advertising control and planning regulations
  • To build knowledge and understanding of contract law
  • Work with the Head of Development & Partnerships to develop investment plans for existing and new portfolios

Capabilities

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Self-starter with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience in client management development
  • Works well within a team and has a collaborative approach to group tasks
  • Articulate and can effectively explain complex information to a range of audiences
  • Negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Ability to integrate at a senior level with all areas of a business

Operational / Systems Expertise

  • Strong analytical and task management experience
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) and Outlook proficiency is essential
  • A proactive approach to systems and reporting

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Expectation of regular independent travel throughout all London Boroughs and the South of the UK
  • Previous experience in customer relationship management is desirable
  • Commercial property surveyor / partnership management experience, in a similar role within the property acquisition sector or previous background in the outdoor advertising industry would be an advantage but should not discourage or exclude individuals with proven negotiation / sales skills in other industries
