ROLE SUMMARY:


My clients mission is to develop innovative and sustainable Packaging solutions for key international customers. They are one of the global market leaders and have ambitous plans for growth.


The Sales & Services Director is responsible for leadership of the Narrow Web (labels) business in the UK supporting the field sales team, and technical teams in their region. Responsible for managing existing and new customer relations in order to retain and grow sales volumes and profitability. Ensuring the retention and development of a highly knowledgeable and professional team across the region.


They are looking to expand their team with a Sales & Service Director for the UK. This is an important role focused on developing and implementing a commercial strategy in a dynamic global business.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Manage, coach and develop the UK Sales & Service team
  • Plan and implement the sales strategy for this region
  • Create the sales budget & forecast for this business area and manage the P&L
  • Maintain sales volumes, product mix and selling price by keeping up to date with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors
  • Manage and drive the profitable growth of the designated pipeline and existing accounts
  • Monitor, report and act on competitor activities in the market. Also provide key business insights including customer segmentation, trends, target accounts and market segmentation.
  • Actively promote sales of new products/services/concepts
  • Be Regional Key Account Managers for specific clients
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting stakeholder relationships through working collaboratively with the sales, and technical teams
  • Utilize and continuously update existing CRM and relevant sales tools to register and report on customer visits, sales process and report on generated value
  • Proactively drive and implement price increases in line with guidelines and requirements
  • Collaborate with R&D to develop and implement new products
  • Responsible for identifying key employees in order to develop talent and create succession planning within the team


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong business acumen and Account Management experience. A minimum of 5 years of sales and leadership experience from the Packaging and/or printing industry (ideally the label sector)
  • Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results
  • Self-starter with project management experience preferred, who initiates plans and drives action to identify and realise market potential
  • Utilises leadership skills and has the ability to manage multiple personnel at multiple sites
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of performing their daily duties without direct supervision to establish strong relationships with our employees and customers
  • Emotional intelligence, understanding when to listen, when to be assertive and when to be supportive with the wider team and customer base
  • Ability to work efficiently in a virtual and digitalized reality. Demonstrated ability to develop, adopt and utilize digital sales tools and processes
  • Must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate value activity to the customer
  • IT skills such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint are essential, CRM experience and an understanding of SAP is desired
