OVERVIEW: The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing the account, providing end-to-end management of the press office, campaigns, junior team members and client communication. As a team lead, the Account Manager is responsible for leading across a broad range of tasks, including, but not limited to - strategic planning and proposal development, client reporting, calls and meetings, and execution of press office activity and campaigns. As an Account Manager, you are expected to demonstrate exceptional communication and organisation skills to run day-to-day retainer activity and campaigns smoothly, in line with agreed timelines and agreed KPIs.


KEY COMPETENCIES

  1. Client Relations: Confidently holds relationships with manager-level clients, taking the lead on all status calls and in team meetings. As an Account Manager, you are expected to identify and anticipate client needs. Takes responsibility for approval of meeting agendas, presentations and ensures all assets are prepared to a client-facing standard before sharing with senior team members or clients for review and approval.
  2. Communication Skills: Communicates clearly and succinctly, demonstrating strong negotiation skills and counsel when communicating ideas and rationale to team members and clients
  3. Team management: demonstrates strong delegation and briefing skills to ensure junior team members are clear on assigned tasks and deadlines so that work is delivered on-time and to a high standard. Is able to consistently manage up / down to the Account Director / Account Executives to ensure the team is abreast of how activities are progressing
  4. Written Skills: Demonstrates exceptional written communication skills and is able to draft a simple PR/social plan, successful press release, pitch emails and reports with minimal counsel required from senior team members
  5. New Business: An Account Manager is expected to contribute to client plans and new business pitches with insight-led ideation and the ability to facilitate a successful brainstorm. Additionally, you should seek out and identify opportunities for organic growth on your own clients
  6. Campaign Execution: As a keen self-starter, an Account Manager is proactive in managing all aspects of press office and campaigns, ensuring flawless end-to-end delivery to meet agreed timelines and client KPIs. The Account Manager is responsible for creating and managing a CPS timeline for all projects and press office (where applicable)
  7. Influencer Marketing: The Account Manager demonstrates a sound understanding of influencer contracting and is able to negotiate sign-off with both talent and client with the support of senior team members, as required
  8. Networking: Can demonstrate ability to network and hold strong relationships with talent management agencies and key media contacts
  9. Account Management: Shows exceptional attention to detail when drafting client budgets and managing cost trackers to ensure all out-of-pocket costs are accounted for within the agreed budget. Demonstrates keen attention to detail on client reporting - oversees all aspects of coverage monitoring to ensure team members are accurately recording results and that these are inputted correctly to client reports and other documents
  10. Training and Development Requirements: Undertakes internal or external training within the following areas: creative and strategic planning, issues management, line management for junior team members
