The Role
As a Business Performance Manager, you will be required to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of all work allocated during deployments on client sites, in support of the Environmental Support Services Division.
Prior to any site visit you will speak with your line manager who will update on any specific work requested by Regional Directors/General Managers. If no specific work is allocated you should speak to the relevant Business Area Manager/Account Manager to agree any localised work that is required, such as staff training, pick rate checks and observations.
The Business Performance Partner will ensure that relationships with clients/local teams and staff are developed, maintained, and enhanced. They will attend client review meetings on a regular basis in support of the Business Area Managers/Account Managers and will feed into monthly meetings with Regional Directors and General Managers to ensure the operational support needs of the business are covered by the team.
This is a national role where frequent travel around the UK will be required.
Key Duties:
- Build relationships with Business Area Managers, Account Managers and client site management to fully understand the operational and production needs of each site for which they are responsible.
- Work with local site teams to drive operational efficiency at all Environmental Support Services sites.
- Build good relationships with Business Performance Team colleagues and Operational site teams to gain a better understanding of site operational challenges.
- Create weekly / monthly reports of on-site productivity for the client site managers, Regional Directors/General Managers and Business Area Managers.
- Attend site visits and review meetings with client managers.
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery and development of SmartSCOR+, Health & Safety Campaigns and operational reporting.
- Provide Regional Directors/General Managers and Business Area Managers with performance feedback from the sites for which they are responsible.
- Manage, motivate, and monitor Team Leaders and operatives on site to ensure the work they deliver is of the standard required.
- Serve as the Company’s eyes and ears on site in the fight against modern slavery, including undertaking ‘undercover team’ work on site / sort lines, reporting finding back to management as required.
- Being available to offer short term management support at sites, though only with prior approval of Manager and Director.

Skills & Experience Required:
- At least 2-year management experience in the recruitment Industry and/or equivalent management experience gained in waste, recycling or production environments.
- Experience of high-volume blue-collar recruitment.
- Client relationship building leading by example with staff on site.
- Willingness to travel to and work from Client sites, including some anti-social hours work and staying away from home.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong motivational, innovative, and interpersonal skills.
- Initiative, drive, and enthusiasm.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- The ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Time management and remote management skills.
- Clean Driving Licence & own vehicle
