Job Description

The Village Manager will lead the operations of Homewood Grove, ensuring the smooth-running of the site, delivering friendly and efficient services to owners, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere to potential new sales and visitors alike. The Village Manager will have operational responsibility all key departmental areas, including Village Services, Spa, Housekeeping, Facilities, our restaurant Oak and Honey, owner and visitor events and dealing with owners’ issues (not including care). The Village Manager will be key in ensuring that employees are correctly supervised, trained and motivated, and adhere to H&S guidance and company policies at all times. Financial reporting and budget accountability is a key component of this role along with supporting the CEO and CFO in annual budget preparation and communicating with owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the HOD team and ensure regular meeting take place and objectives are set that align with the Village Manager objectives and to that of Rangeford
  • Work alongside the registered Care Manager in delivering the care business and night cover arrangements
  • Work closely with the sales team and Executive lead to help in the sales process, generate positive PR and ensure appropriate presentation of the village, guests and staff at all times
  • Ensuring a regular programme of stimulating owner events take place and are well communicated and attended
  • Manage the F&B team and Head Chef to ensure Oak and Honey hits the annual budget and delivers value add services to owners and visitors
  • Maintain high service standards of customer service throughout all departments, across the village to deliver outstanding and personalised services
  • First line complaint handling, resolution and tracking per the ARCO code
  • Working with HOD’s and partners to ensure the village team adhere to all legislative requirements. i.e. COSHH, Fire Safety, Food Safety, HSE etc.
  • Work with the Head of Operations to set up strategies and action plans to ensure that departmental objectives/targets are met and that responses are made to changing market conditions

Qualifications

This is dependent on previous experience, however ideally the role holder will have at least one of the following areas:

Hospitality management, F&B Management, Hotel Management – training can be arranged if required.

Experience

Must have at least 3 years previous management experience in retirement villages/ extra care / retirement schemes, hotels, restaurants or other relevant locations.

Due to the nature of the environment the successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check paid for by us.
