Role Profile

Reports to: Imports Manager

Location: Glasgow, office based

Salary: Dependent on experience

Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8.30am to 5.30pm)

Role Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Full Time Import Clerk to join our ever expanding, fast paced organisation. You will be based at our Head Office in Glasgow and assist in the day to day running of our busy traffic department.

Job role and daily responsibilities

  • Enter shipping data / register invoice in the ERP system with precision and speed
  • Provide clearance instructions to forwarding agents
  • Organise and file paperwork as needed i.e., COO (Certificate of origin), GRN (Goods Received Note) etc.
  • Maintain and update shipment data with accuracy

Experience required

  • Knowledge of Import HMRC Processes & documentation (Not essential as training will be provided)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills ideally to intermediate level
  • Self-driven with a “can do” attitude
  • Previous experience in Admin/Customer Service/Importing/Exporting
  • Clear and efficient communicator both written and oral
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Self-starter who is able to use initiative to run projects and tasks on their own without direct supervision
  • Educated to a degree level (or minimum 2 years’ experience within a freight forwarder role or similar import/export role – not essential).
