We are SLICE. A new mobile network.
We’re here to disrupt the mobile category with something new. A modern mobile network that ditches everything that’s old and tired and offers something different, no physical SIM cards, free trials, app only, the list goes on. We show we’re grateful to our customers for choosing us and genuinely reward them for their loyalty. Essentially we treat them like owners.
We are in early growth mode, having launched in early September 2024 and are looking for an experienced Community Manager to embody the Slice brand, building a strong relationship with our customers both online and IRL.
A career defining opportunity
We’re building a brand that’s anchored in our community and we’re looking for an experienced Community Manager to encourage engagement and build loyalty along the way.
But we also want to do things a little differently. We’re not your average mobile network and our personality and behaviour reflects that. We want somebody who can embody our maverick style and push the boundaries to connect with people.
We need you to:
- Develop a market leading community strategy that will underpin our customer experience.
- Run community and brand social engagement.
- Brief asset creation to deliver on community initiatives.
- Be responsible for fostering engagement, building relationships and maintaining the integrity of our communities.
- Innovate in how we can turn customers into superfans.
- Be the voice of the customer within our business, ensuring that they feel heard by responding to enquiries and feedback.
- Work alongside our PR and social manager to align organic social content themes across all of our channels, delivering to our overarching social objectives.
Your career so far
You must have:
Worked in a marketing, partnerships, social or community role for at least four years.
Experience with Discourse, our community platform (or similar).
Experience aligning plans with brand, marketing, customer service and product teams.
The ability to develop creative, engaging and original community content with success stories to brag about with a gen z, late millennial audience.
A strong personality that can embody the brand.
Worked in a company or environment that is driven by customer experience.
The ability to scale and work in a hands-on way, building the bridge as we go along.
We would like you to have:
Worked within a start-up, agency or fast growth environment.
Worked within a brand-centric environment.
Worked with a gen z / late millennial audience.
Nice to have:
Experience of working within a budget-constrained environment, with tried and tested hacks to ensure success.
Experience building community events in real life.
Our environment
Success at SLICE means that you will be:
- Resourceful to your core with an uncanny ability to find ways to make difficult things happen and overcome challenges.
- Someone who thrives on creative and innovative thinking to deliver excellent commercial results.
- Comfortable operating with your sleeves rolled up, taking ownership and seeing no task as beneath (or above) your pay grade.
- Happy to crack on with real pace and energy, sometimes in an unclear environment or when faced with ambiguity or potential risk.
- Balanced and sensible with a high energy, can-do/will-do mentality.
- Focused on the solutions rather than merely fixated on the problems.
- Robust, ultra resilient and unfazed when dealing with senior stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge and be challenged.
- Someone who thrives working in a fast paced environment where new ideas and thinking are positively encouraged and nurtured.
- Able to make decisions at pace, with the pragmatism and agility to change direction when necessary.
- Happy to own your mistakes and swiftly move on.
- Able to hold your own and back yourself and your ideas when things get a little crunchy.
If you’re excited about the opportunity to spearhead the community for a fast- growing tech startup that thrives on culture, creativity, and revolutionary ideas, we encourage you to apply. We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
We also have a strict “no-dickhead” policy.
