About the Role:

The Senior Communications Manager sits in the European-wide Audio Comms Team, integrated in the Global Communications Team. The role reports directly into the Communications Director, Audio with line management of a Comms exec

You will need to work seamlessly with the full Audio Communications, leadership and transformation teams in the planning, development and delivery of the comms plans and materials as well as with the global Corporate Communications team.


This role will be critical to Next Level Bauer’s transformation, and the implementation of the Audio Strategy. It will enable and support Bauer’s transformation, build and protect the Bauer Media Group brand and ensure our comms lands with impact.


This role is responsible for both internal and external communications, delivered using the latest digital, engaging multi-platform communications and content creation methods to ensure the message resonates.


You will seek out strategic opportunities to build and protect the Bauer Media Group brand, through media and platform campaigns and opportunities and the running of a press office dealing with both proactive and reactive media opportunities. You will also work on issue management and crisis communications, as required.


You will also play a key role in the transformation and leadership of the Audio Comms Network across 9 markets, providing strategic guidance and co-ordination and producing messaging and toolkits to ensure strategic alignment across Bauer Media Audio and its markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To implement the Audio Comms Strategy, devise external communications plans and materials and be responsible for their timely implementation, coverage, reporting and evaluation.
  • Devise communications materials and content for social and digital channels, where relevant.
  • Identify, build and maintain strong external relationships with media and stakeholders relevant to Bauer Media Audio can build and protect its brand
  • Maintain the Bauer Media Audio press target database, and effectively plan and evaluate campaigns according to the communications approach and objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of internal and external campaigns to ensure they land with impact
  • Monitor media and gather press coverage and social media commentary for reporting.
  • Support on issues management or crisis communications, as required.
  • Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships across Bauer Media Audio.
  • Play a critical role in leading, coordinating and transforming the Audio Comms Network and provide guidance, where relevant.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Media relations skills and knowledge, with previous evidenced campaigns and projects. Corporate PR & Comms experience gained within either an agency or in-house environment
  • Experience of external communications and PR plus a black book of external journalist contacts
  • Knowledge of media landscape and, importantly, an interest in radio and audio.
  • Digital skills and knowledge, with previous evidenced experience of multi-platform digital communications creation, produced and implemented to an agreed timeline.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders demonstrated with evidence in fostering and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Able to work fast in a dynamic and complex business environment – demonstrated through the ability to juggle multiple projects consecutively and work in a highly collaborative way
  • Experience of creating change and internal comms plans with evidenced examples of good outcomes.
  • Production knowledge, video editing and photo editing skills would be advantageous
