Our client, a well-established and purpose-driven company, is currently seeking an experienced Sales Manager to take the lead on a high-profile, industry-leading event with 30,000 attendees. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive strategic growth, manage commercial elements, and oversee the day-to-day operations of a dynamic event team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial strategy creation, execution, P&L delivery, and budget and floorplan management.
  • Lead commercial management efforts, focusing on key accounts, partners, stakeholders, and trade associations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial plan with a strong emphasis on sponsorship revenue.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the event team, including direct reports and indirect management of centralised stakeholders (matrix management).
  • Build and grow key partnerships, both commercial and non-commercial, to drive revenue and community engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor all marketing communication activities to ensure alignment with event goals.
  • Stay ahead of market trends to develop new concepts and co-located programs that enhance the event's success.
  • Manage and develop dedicated projects to increase visitor attendance.
  • Attend industry events to maintain a strong understanding of the market.
  • Spearhead digital strategy efforts for the event.
  • Generate stand and sponsorship revenue through both phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Visit competitive events to meet existing customers and prospect for new business.


Competencies:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Senior Sales Manager or in a similar strategic role, with a strong background in P&L management, campaign execution, and stakeholder management.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to elevate a team’s performance.
  • Strong sales skills, including objection handling, sourcing new leads, and crafting effective partnership and sponsorship proposals.
  • Innovative mindset, with a focus on future industry trends and market needs.
  • Excellent creative abilities, capable of developing imaginative event concepts.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
