You will play a significant role in overseeing the customs process for both air and ocean shipments. Not only will you be working with our biggest well-known customers; you will also be collaborating with our team of experienced customs professionals- some of the best in the business

Your role as a Customs Clerk:

  • Prepare and review documentation required for both air and sea import and export processes, including invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading/airway bills
  • Complete and submit accurate customs declarations to ensure compliance with international and UK trade regulations
  • Communicate with customers, customs authorities & internal stakeholders, providing regular clear updates on the status of shipments and offering guidance on customs-related matters
  • Efficiently resolve any issues that occur relating to disputes, inspections or customs delays and communicate to relevant parties involved
  • Determine appropriate tariff classifications for goods based on customs codes and calculate applicable duties, taxes, and fees.

About you - you will have:

  • Previous experience working in custom clearance
  • Knowledge of import and/or export processes, ideally in air or sea freight
  • A high attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and efficiently manage workload
  • Experience in Excise (Beer, Wine, Spirits) is desirable but not essential
