Job Title: Category Leader – MRO/Production Support

Location: Preston, Frimley or Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £53,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Travelling between UK BAE Systems’ sites and suppliers, including engaging with various stakeholders to satisfy business requirements
  • Delivering Indirect Procurement strategy and capability, primarily (but not restricted to) the PPE, workwear, laundry and calibration sub-categories of MRO / Production Support
  • Working closely with business unit management, Procurement Managers and Professionals across the organisation to develop, communicate and deliver the strategy for the production support category
  • Providing best practice capability and supporting the development of the category strategy to ensure procurement excellence in meeting direct and indirect project or business objectives. There will be particular focus on managing contract delivery through innovative solutions
  • Contracting new and existing supplier contracts
  • Sourcing, negotiating and contracting business requirements in a highly capable and professional manner
  • Developing a ESG roadmap within the assigned categories with agreed objectives

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Category management experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of business and procurement approaches, techniques and processes
  • Proven communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Supplier management experience
  • Contract negotiation skills

Desirable

  • Experience of production support / MRO category management
  • Project management skills
  • CIPS qualification or working towards
