My client is a leading independent retailer with an international presence. They are looking for a People Manager to join on a full-time basis.
This role will report into the Chief People Officer and join a small, but growing People team. You will be responsible for the UK entity (c.50-70 employees).
Role responsibilities:
- Ownership and development of both the operational and strategic HR agenda.
- Delivering an employee experience that supports the culture and values of the company.
- Management of all operational HR facets such as employee relations, managing performance, recruitment/onboarding, payroll, benefits and compliance as well as providing coaching to key stakeholders across the business.
- Providing strategic HR insight into organisational structure, vision and effectiveness.
- Proactively identifying the need for employee learning and development, retention strategies, succession planning, and career development.
- Oversight of the HR budget.
Role criteria:
- 5-7 years of proven HR experience (with at least 2 years at Business Partner/Manager level).
- Prior experience within the Retail, FMCG, Consumer sectors.
- CIPD qualified.
- Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Prior experience in a standalone HR role.

This role would suit a proven HR Manager that has led the HR function within a smaller organisation OR a Senior HR Advisor/HRBP that is looking to build out their HR credentials by taking ownership of the HR function and reporting in directly to the CPO. You must have prior experience in managing an HR function (standalone).
An interest in the Retail sector is important.
This role requires someone to be on-site 5 days per week (office in Central London).
