On behalf of one of our wonderful clients, we are seeking a HR Manager to join a newly forming team on a part-time basis. Your early focus will be on supporting the merger of three existing theological education charities. In the medium to longer-term your focus will be on supporting a sustainable community of faith, offering hospitality to all and creative opportunities for learning. The appointment to this role is in support of us securing a sustainable future for our people, students and groups we serve. The work of the future organisation is intended to be transformative within our communities, creating a supportive learning environment where all can flourish.


This role will provide operational HR support on organisational changes, recruitment and retention, staff policies and day to day HR advice and support. Your expertise will provide essential support to our leadership team and wider staff community, ensuring a positive and productive work environment as we transition from three individual charities, into one, with shared values, objectives and ways of working.


Essential requirements

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience demonstrating technical HR knowledge.
  • Experience in organisational change programs (e.g., TUPE, organisation redesign, statutory consultation processes).
  • Experience working within an education or charity environment
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing best practice HR solutions.

  • Partnering line managers to improve people management and work-based experiences
  • Developing capability in support of organisational priorities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Identifying, developing, and retaining talent.


Experience in working in an educational or theological environment is welcomed.

Christian faith is not a requirement of this role, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate that they have empathy with the inclusive, faith-based ethos of our community.


Location: hybrid role, with attendance on site to support collaborative working and project delivery in Manchester. There are no set days required to be ‘in the office’ but we will need to post holder to be able to attend events or activities ‘in person’ to support project delivery


Position Type: Part-Time up to 20-25 hours per week, 10am-2pm as core hours

Salary: £40,000 pro rata
