Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom Datatecnics Full time

Business Development Manager

At Datatecnics, we provide the world’s most powerful platform for utilities to connect siloed data and model failure risk in their water network. We work with utilities in the UK and abroad, helping them to leverage AI to better manage their delivery of water and wastewater services to millions of customers.

Our technology expertise is deep: we’re a sector-leading business, based in Media City Manchester. Our research lab is based out of the Centre for Water Systems at the University of Exeter, the world’s foremost academic institution for water research impact.

Our people are core to our mission and our hiring process is driven around the values-based ethos of the business. Our aim is to be a business that delivers benefit to people and planet, and we have a working culture which is based around mutual respect and understanding.

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help us accelerate our revenue growth, after several years of co-developing our prediction modelling platform, Foresight, with water companies.

The day-to-day of the role

You are a relationship builder. You love to work with new customers from the initial interaction (where no prior relationship exists) and deliver an exceptional experience from day one.

You will: (a) identify the water companies who would benefit from Datatecnics’ AI platform in our key territories (North America, UK and EU), and (b) curate solutions to the individual problems faced by those water companies, moving the deal through the pipeline and working with the CEO to close.

In this role you will work closely with all functions of the business – learning about our best-in-class AI solutions from the engineering and product teams, crafting campaigns with our marketing team, and being supported in the sales process by the CEO, Head of Finance and Head of Product Marketing.

You’ll be working with a top tier team who are highly competent, friendly and focused on delivering class-leading environmental technologies to water companies.
