UK, UK, United Kingdom Netmore UK Full time

Job Description

We’re on the hunt for a dynamic, visionary, and innovative Smart Metering Programme Manager to lead our cutting-edge programme in North of England. This role isn’t just about overseeing projects – it’s about driving transformation, disrupting norms, and making a tangible impact for our communities as well as for one of the most scarce resources in the UK - water. If you’re an out-of-the-box thinker, a rapid learner, a master problem-solver and not afraid of hard work, we want you on our team

Your Mission

As our Smart Metering Programme Manager, you will lead the delivery of our complex but extremely exciting multi-year AMI Smart Metering Programme. This initiative is pivotal in reducing water consumption and leakage, ultimately minimising our client's environmental footprint and financial costs. Your role will blend strategic leadership, hands-on management, and creative problem-solving to deliver unparalleled results.

In short, the programme consists of several streams to be completed by different in-house or sub-contracted teams:

  • Supply smart meters: planning, ordering and delivery of smart meters and other hardware from different suppliers
  • Install smart meters: planning, scheduling, customer engagements and actual exchanges of the meters
  • Connect smart meters: rollout of IoT network primarily based on LoRaWAN that connects smart meters and provides data as a service

...and all the fun around those streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead with Vision: Inspire and guide a team of delivery professionals, SMEs, and third-party specialists in planning and executing the smart metering programme.
  • Drive Innovation: Oversee the development and implementation of the integrated programme plan. Ensure all workstreams are aligned, interdependencies are managed, and innovative solutions are embraced.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners. Your ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate will be essential in delivering this complex initiative.
  • Governance and Assurance: Establish robust governance frameworks and keep key stakeholders informed. Ensure that all programme outputs meet high-quality standards, are delivered on time, and stay within budget.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage the programme's budget meticulously, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial efficiency and value for money.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks to ensure successful programme outcomes. Your proactive approach will be vital in navigating challenges and uncertainties.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Track Record: substantial experience (at least 3 years) in delivering large-scale, multi-year change programmes, preferably within the utilities sector and smart metering domain.
  • Leadership Excellence: strong leadership skills with a history of establishing and nurturing high-performing teams. Ability to engage and motivate team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strategic and Tactical Balance: demonstrable experience in both strategic planning and detailed execution. Ability to switch between high-level vision and in-depth details seamlessly.
  • Exceptional Communication: stellar communication and influencing skills. You should be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from C-level executives to frontline staff.
  • Commercially driven: a commercially minded approach focused on delivering value and measurable outcomes. Experience with procurement and vendor management is essential.
  • Qualifications: Relevant professional qualifications such as PRINCE2, or PMP. A degree in a related field is preferred.

Why Join Us?

At Netmore, a European IoT operator, we are passionate about utilising technology to get real IoT work. To achieve that we're rolling out a pan-European LPWAN Network currently addressing 11 European countries, USA and APAC.

  • Make a Difference: Be at the forefront of a transformative initiative that has real-world environmental and financial impacts.
  • Innovative Environment: Work in a forward-thinking company that values creativity, innovation, and disruptive ideas.
  • Supportive Culture: Join a team that prioritises employee development, mentoring, and wellbeing. We believe in supporting our employees to achieve their full potential.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and can thrive, regardless of their background.
