Role Overview:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for generating and delivering a client’s project pipeline. You will ensure all projects are managed and delivered in line with Smart Managed Solutions’ standards and contractual agreements. This role requires overseeing all financial aspects of projects, maintaining margins, and leading your team to deliver projects on time, on budget, and safely.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in identifying and generating project opportunities.
  • Recruit and manage labor levels for current and future projects.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand and advise on feasibility.
  • Work with developers, designers, and sub-contractors to define and document scopes of work.
  • Develop full scopes of work within budget and required profit margins.
  • Manage tenders and perform full tender analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM, QHSE processes, and manage statutory and commercial risks.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational aspects of projects.
  • Ensure customer acceptance aligns with project plans.
  • Agree on payment schedules and manage project documents.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Director of Projects.


Business Development:

  • Develop a pipeline of project opportunities from the client portfolio.
  • Leverage opportunities through visibility and presence on customer sites.
  • Manage bids, tenders, presentations, and proposals.


Building Relationships:

  • Develop strong working relationships with customers and site teams.
  • Build a pipeline of approved supply partners with the central procurement team.
  • Meet regularly with client teams and project teams.


Commercial Awareness:

  • Full accountability for project P&L, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Produce monthly project reports and present to the Director of Projects.
  • Manage sub-contractor accounts and ensure projects meet commercial terms.


Project Management:

  • Define project scope to meet customer specifications.
  • Price works to meet commercial obligations and profit margins.
  • Manage health and safety aspects of projects.
  • Oversee the development of programs and ensure delivery expectations are met.
  • Attend sites as required and ensure all project processes are completed.
  • Ensure weekly project meetings are held.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven Project Management experience in M&E, FM, construction, or critical environments.
  • Proven experience of running a P&L.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a team.
  • Experience working within framework agreements.
  • CDM regulations, IOSH Managing Safely and/or SMSTS.
  • Recognized technical qualification in construction, M&E, or similar.
  • Business-standard written and verbal literacy and numeracy.
  • Recognized qualification in Project Management.


Desirable:

  • Experience delivering multiple projects of varying complexity and value at a senior level.
  • NEBOSH, SMSTS, Beng, BSC.
  • Experience managing others.

  • High degree of integrity and motivation.
