If so, our Investment & Property Management Team are looking for a new Assistant Campus & Events Manager to join us at our office based in Granta Park, Cambridge.

The Investment & Property Management Team undertakes the management of various commercial properties. They act on behalf of a range of clients including Cambridge colleges, institutions, property companies and family trusts with the aim to maximise the potential of clients' property assets and encourage clients to consider their property as a dynamic part of their overall investment strategy.

Reporting to the Campus Manager, this role will see the successful candidate supporting our Campus Manager, Marketing and Events Manager in the day-to-day operational delivery of Facilities Management services at Granta Park.

This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm with one hour for lunch.

What you’ll be doing:


There will be a substantial degree of exposure to both client and tenant organisations as well as within Bidwells itself. This will include regular attendance at tenant meetings and an ongoing contribution towards effective team reporting. Underpinning this will be a responsibility to deliver facilities and events management services, ensuring that both client and tenant expectations are met. Further duties may include:

  • Ensuring that annual building service charge budgets are prepared for Estate and Marketing cost codes whilst regularly reviewing expenditure, ensuring tracking against agreed budgets.
  • Supporting Campus Manager in managing service charge budget setting and reconciliation.
  • Managing contractors effectively, supervising their contract obligations and re-tendering where necessary.
  • Managing all day-to-day service partner relationships, including weekly walkarounds.
  • Responsibility for overseeing small works projects.
  • Arranging and attending tenant meetings.
  • Undertaking regular monthly inspections of Campus.
  • Monitoring and overseeing planned preventative maintenance contracts and works within landlord areas.
  • Assisting the Campus Manager with any property and facilities management issues that arise.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the Campus.
  • Managing the Health & Safety system (Rickwise) for the Campus areas.
  • Dealing with H&S matters and managing risks inclusive of issuing Permits to Work.
  • Reviewing RAMS and issuing Permits as required.
  • Operationally delivering all planned events, including setting up, clearing down and liaison with contractors and occupiers around the event.
  • Being the key contact for all events held, inclusive of summer sports activities and supplier showcases.


About You:


  • Previous Facilities Management or Estate Management experience, ideally within a Campus Environment.
  • Experience of service charge budgeting/accounting within a property/facilities management environment.
  • Awareness of Events Management within a Property related industry.
  • Experience of health and safety management and other compliance-related activities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Numerate with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good team plater with a pro-active and positive attitude.
  • Facilities Management and/or Health & Safety-related qualifications such as IWFM, DipFM, NEBOSH and IOSH are extremely desirable, but not essential.
  • Property-related qualifications such as MRICS or AssocRICS are also desirable, however not essential.
