As a Design Coordinator, you will facilitate collaboration among team members and stakeholders, organize design tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the highest standards of design quality, particularly within RIBA Stages 0-4. Your role will involve engaging with clients to understand project requirements, assisting in organizing and prioritizing design tasks, and acting as a central point of contact for internal teams and external consultants. You’ll track design progress, implement quality control measures, and facilitate the resolution of design-related issues, ensuring that projects meet client expectations and are delivered on time.
Key responsibilities include client collaboration to incorporate feedback into design solutions, developing project schedules with the Design Manager, coordinating communication between teams and clients, and utilizing project management tools to monitor progress. You’ll enforce design quality standards, conduct regular reviews of deliverables, and address any design concerns that arise during the project.
To excel in this role, you should have a BSc degree in Architecture, Project Management, or a related field, and proven experience in coordinating design activities within a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as strong organizational and time management abilities. Occasional travel to project sites and client meetings may be required.
