Architect at Leading London Design Studio with Hybrid Work Flexibility

Are you an Architect currently looking for a new position at a leading design studio? Here’s an exciting opportunity to join a renowned architecture practice in South London that values innovation, sustainability, and professional growth.

This well-established design studio has a rich history of delivering cutting-edge and environmentally responsible solutions across diverse sectors, including aviation, education, rail, hospitality, healthcare, leisure, and retail. With offices in the UK, Ireland, and the UAE, they have a global presence and a reputation for excellence.

As an Architect in their South London office, you'll play a key role in a wide-ranging architectural design, coordination, and liaison role. You’ll lead and manage teams, overseeing projects from inception to completion through all RIBA Plan of Work stages 0-7. This role requires a deep understanding of project processes, documentation, and management tools, enabling you to ensure that the design solutions are technically compliant, buildable, and aligned with the studio's philosophy and client aspirations.

You'll be the primary point of contact for specific work packages or projects, coordinating with structural, MEP services, and specialist systems to integrate them seamlessly into the overall design. Your responsibilities include developing GA drawings, schedules, specifications, and visualizations while planning and overseeing the activities of project assistants to meet deadlines efficiently.

This studio encourages a collaborative environment where you’ll participate in project design meetings, workshops, and reviews. Your ability to communicate effectively and record significant interactions accurately will be crucial. A solid grasp of construction and building legislation, as well as a commitment to continual professional development (CPD), will keep you at the forefront of industry standards.

Commercial awareness is also key. You’ll help manage the project’s resource profile and profit target, ensuring any changes are documented, approved, and their implications understood. Quality management is a cornerstone of this practice, and you’ll adopt their Quality Management System rigorously, contributing to internal or external audits as necessary.

Beyond the technical and managerial aspects, you’ll contribute to a dynamic, motivated team environment. Your leadership will help identify training needs, support team members, and occasionally report on resources, fee forecasting, and health and safety issues.

The studio offers a competitive salary package and an array of benefits, including private medical insurance, eyecare vouchers, and a 5% employer pension contribution. You’ll also enjoy 20 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays and additional days between Christmas and New Year. Their hybrid working policy allows for a balance between office and remote work, with a minimum of two days in the office per week and up to 10 remote working days a year.

Professional development is strongly supported, with opportunities for CPD sessions, Revit training, and funding for professional subscriptions and exams. Plus, enjoy perks like fresh fruit in the office, a cycle-to-work scheme, and a discretionary company profit-sharing arrangement.

If you’re a registered Architect with the ARB, equipped with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in software like Revit, Sketch-up, and Adobe Creative Suite, this is your chance to join a practice that truly values its team members.
