Strategic Account Manager – £50k-£60k base + £20k-£25k OTE


Our client is a Market Intelligence Platform business who are the leading provider of news, intelligence, and analysis on the Global Fixed Income, FX, Private Equity and Energy markets.


They’re looking to hire candidates with at least 3-4 years of account management/business development experience, selling into financial markets.


They are an organization with the capabilities of a research company and the status of an accredited news agency. Most renowned in the market for their exclusive central bank policy interviews with sitting policy makers.


They also deliver real-time analysis on fixed income and foreign exchange markets across G7 and China.


Their client base spans across the top tier investment banks and global macro funds.


The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients across both buy and sell side institutions
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships at existing accounts to ensure high retention rates
  • Responsible for over 100 existing end users, driving high user engagement with the service
  • Create and drive an upgrade pipeline within your accounts by prospecting, cold calling, qualifying and securing meetings with appropriate prospects
  • Cross selling the new products (Credit, Power and EM Policy) into your portfolio of clients
  • Managing the entire sales process from qualification through to negotiation and close
  • Working with the SDR and marketing teams to design thoughtful and strategic upgrade campaigns to grow the pipeline
  • Consistently achieve sales targets and activity KPIs
  • Accurately reporting revenue forecasts and managing pipeline progression in Salesforce
  • Travel within assigned territory as required to meet with clients and prospects


Required experience:

  • 3-4 years of account management/business development experience, ideally selling into financial markets
  • A self starter who is proactive, energetic, personable and confident
  • Must be a team player who is able to collaborate with colleagues and work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of organization and abilities to multi task
  • Have a growth mindset and be open to developing and learning consultative sales skills
  • Be money motivated and goal driven
  • Have strong communication and written skills
  • Must have an interest in financial markets and current affairs
  • Basic understanding of market dynamics or economics
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems and Salesforce


Salary:

  • The salary, depending on experience, is circa £50k-£60k base + £20k-£25k OTE
