About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced head of operations to lead and transform its manufacturing and distribution operations. As the most senior operations role within the business, you will be critical in the senior leadership team, driving the strategic alignment of commercial and supply chain operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be pivotal in shaping and executing the company's operational strategy, ensuring seamless integration with our overall business objectives.


Key Priorities

- Establish and maintain clear reporting structures and performance visibility across all manufacturing and distribution operations.

- Develop and implement robust strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity, ensuring scalable and repeatable processes.

- Lead the strategic move to a new 100,000 sq ft operational site, overseeing design, setup, and go-live phases.

- Design and implement comprehensive training and development programs to support continuous learning.

- Develop and manage budgets, driving cost-effective operations without compromising quality or service.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation driven by clear objectives and KPIs.

- Represent operations at the senior leadership table, contributing to the overall business strategy and decision-making process.

- Connect commercial operations with supply chain functions to ensure alignment and integration.


Strategic Responsibilities

As the Head of Operations, you will be instrumental in the upcoming 2025 site move, ensuring operational continuity and success. Your role will involve:

- Implementing key performance metrics to measure, monitor, and enhance operational performance.

- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, fostering a safety and wellbeing culture.

- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and other stakeholders.

- Managing a sophisticated raw material supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate service to manufacturing teams.

- Driving accountability and continuous improvement within the team, promoting high performance and positive workplace relationships.


Experience Required to be Successful in the Role

- A proven track record in a senior operational leadership role within manufacturing and distribution environments.

- At least 10 years of senior operations management experience, focusing on strategic planning and execution.

- Experience in managing site relocations and setting up new operational facilities.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with C-suite executives and cross-functional teams.

- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in manufacturing and distribution environments.

- Expertise in data analysis and performance metrics, driving informed decision-making.
