This will be the first appointment of its type in Mid Wales and as such the post will be high profile, leading whole system change across Mid Wales.


The successful candidate will be a key influencer in regional and national policy and strategy and at the vanguard of community sport design and development in Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work with and on behalf of the MWSP Board to lead and drive the strategic direction of the Partnership to meet its vision and aspirations. These will be delivered, through an innovative and collaborative approach, using a variety of sports and physical activities as the proposed solution.


This collaborative approach reflects the fact that no one organisation can achieve this ambition on its own, recognising that it is vital to work in partnership with communities and other public sector, private sector and third sector organisations to make the improvements happen.


Responsibilities

  • To be the strategic lead for the development of sport and physical activity across Mid Wales, achieving sustainable

growth in the number of active people, leading to improved health and well-being across the region.

  • To be responsible for the development and maintenance of effective stakeholder and partner relationships across

Mid Wales, ensuring commitment to the vision for MWSP. In particular with local delivery partners.

  • To attract and grow sustainable financial investment into MWSP, enabling the region to thrive and helping to safeguard the future development of sport and physical activity.
  • To represent MWSP on matters of regional and national significance, liaising with Welsh Government, Sport Wales

and other regional and national partners to influence and advise on policy and strategy for sport and physical

activity in Wales.

  • To act as a leading advocate for sport and physical activity, raising the profile of MWSP, its purpose and the contribution it makes to health, well-being and the regional economy.
