About the role

The Zellis business is underway with a refreshed 5 year plan. In order to deliver on this plan, we have some ambitious transformational initiatives to deliver in order to strengthen our capability, and in turn strengthen our market position.

A significant amount of the transformational activity that underpins our 5 year plan begins in our Product & Technology business. Aligned to the development and launch of exciting new HR products, we are re-focussing on the product lifecycle with a strategy to offer all of our customers the best of what we have to offer.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the primary purpose of the Product Portfolio Manager role will be to deliver our ongoing programme of sunsetting activities. The communication and progress of this programme will be highly visible to senior stakeholders.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, agreeing and maintaining programme plans with key stakeholders across the business, underpinned to the product sunsetting roadmap.
  • Engaging key stakeholders involved in the programme to ensure all programme activities are undertaken in accordance with the plan, including successfully transitioning the service to a live state with ongoing ownership from various business teams as relevant.
  • Inputting into and representing the programme as part of our priority projects governance forum.
  • Ensuring all project or change risks and issues (including mitigation and resolution), are reported and appropriately escalated.
  • Supporting the Director of Product Management with the planning of the key programmes as part of the 5 year plan end-to-end across all areas of our business (Product & Technology delivery, deployment, go-to-market, business change, etc).
  • Identifying and recommending ongoing continuous improvement opportunities, based on lessons learned, to deliver improved customer experience, and operational efficiencies.

Skills & experience

  • Experience in working with and/or managing software development teams.
  • Strong project management and planning skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to instil accountability for actions within a matrix operating model.
  • This role sits within the Product Management business, and so understanding of product management and typical challenges faced would be advantageous
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship building skills at all levels, to ensure you can deliver projects in accordance with the company’s defined methodology, governance, and success criteria.
  • Good understanding and experience of developing and tracking against KPIs and leavers for operational performance; experience of OKR would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to communicate clearly with different levels in the organisation, from team level to the Exec members.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ensuring actions are taken, followed up and progressed across the leadership team.
  • Utilisation of technology solutions to facilitate collaborative working.
  • Outstanding inter-personal skills, being able to work across functional boundaries. Giving confidence to leaders of the situation and progress of critical projects and programmes.
