Established for almost 25 years, my client has a broad and well - developed portfolio of unique, premium and patented natural health and wellbeing pet supplement products which are distributed to the global pet market in over 50 countries.


As well as having an impressive portfolio of customers including leading pet stores, vets and pharmacies, this brand also has a huge online sales presence which includes Amazon (UK & Europe), Etsy, eBay, TikTok & Mirakl.


The emphasis for this role will be on the sales of the company’s own label product manufacturing offering in addition to looking after existing customer accounts.


The role:


As an experienced business development professional from the Pet Trade industry, you will join this thriving business to drive forward their own label animal health product manufacturing offering to both new and existing customers. This is a national role which will also include regular travel throughout Ireland and often Europe as required.


This role requires a deep understanding of the manufacturing process, product customisation and the ability to deliver tailored solutions to meet clients’ unique needs. Duties will include:


  • Identifying and targeting potential customers within the own label product manufacturing market
  • Developing and implementing strategic sales plans with existing customers to achieve company sales targets and expand the customer base
  • Conducting market research to understand industry trends and client needs
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Providing point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of service and solutions to customers
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and proposals to prospective customers
  • Negotiating contracts and closing agreements to maximse profits
  • Collaborating with internal teams (e.g. product development, marketing and production) to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Developing a thorough understanding of all products and manufacturing capabilities
  • Staying up to date with industry and competitor developments and activities
  • Preparing regular reports on sales activity and pipeline
  • Tracking sales metrics and reporting on performance against target
  • Providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement

In order to be considered for this role, you must possess the following;


  • England or Ireland based
  • A wealth of experience gained from the pet trade or animal health industries in a sales capacity
  • Experience and understanding of own label product manufacturing
  • A proven track record of sales success within the above-mentioned areas
  • The ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Happy to travel regularly
  • Able to work autonomously without close supervision
  • Able to work well with regular change and re-prioritise quickly
  • Effective negotiation and presentation skills
  • Self - motivated and results orientated
