My client is a well-established supplier of men's, women's, and children's woven casual and semi-formal clothing, with manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh, Jordan, and India.


Due to rapid expansion in the UK and EU markets, they are seeking a high-calibre Business Development Director to join their team. This role is remote, but requires availability for customer visits at short notice, both locally and internationally.


The ideal candidate will be an experienced Sales/Business Development Director with a strong background in range development, a commercial eye, and excellent management skills.


My client is a very successful company that produces high-quality products for low to mid-tier customers, with a significant focus on sustainability from factory level through to the finished product. They currently supply major blue-chip retailers and supermarkets, and the successful candidate will ideally have experience working with high street multiples.


Requirements

· Min 10 years’ experience in an apparel business with high street and supermarkets.

· ⁠Is a connected individual that can develop long term business relationships with existing and potential clients in order to maximize growth and revenue potential.

· ⁠Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a high taste level and an eye for detail.

· ⁠An influential team player and communicator, who can effectively direct multiple teams within the critical path, delivering profitable and trend-driven ranges according to customers aesthetic and strategy.

· Demonstrable career success of growing business

· Knowledgeable in putting ranges together and preparing for customer meetings.

· Worked across a multitude of manufacturing units.

· Detail orientated and experience working with overseas offices.

· ⁠Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.


Main Responsibilities

· Develop and review long- and short-term sales strategies.⁠

· Manage the end-to-end critical path.

· Collaborate with factories to achieve optimal products and pricing.

· Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and strengthen the company’s relationship with them.

· ⁠Determine the company’s gross profit and annual unit plans by analysing trends and results and implementing marketing strategies to achieve them.

· Build and maintain long-term business relationships with existing and potential clients to maximize growth and revenue potential.

· ⁠Research and analyse trends through travel, trade fairs, and modern media resources to identify key items and best sellers.

· Visit customer retail stores regularly to identify market opportunities and develop strategies to address them.

· Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts.

· Conduct regular store visits for seasonal trend and fabric research.

· ⁠Collaborate with design and product development teams to create new seasonal products based on research data and customer feedback.
