Purpose of the Role
Join the wider Manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer where you'll be responsible for presenting and agreeing feasibility issues cross-functionally; influencing product style and part design to support Manufacturing functional deliverables; leading problem solving activities & resolution, and play a pivotal role in driving extraordinary customer journeys through the execution of Definitive Modern Luxury design in our electrified product portfolio.

Reporting into the Functional Manager, your main responsibilities include;

  • Analysis of final assembly feasibility on all future programmes.
  • Analysis of dimensional management outputs for complex systems and development of assembly strategies to ensure product quality targets are achieved
  • Virtual analysis of part design and assembly strategy to identify improvements and resolve areas of concern
  • Lead / Support Design and Manufacturing Feasibility reviews
  • Manage KPI’s to support status reporting at key project milestones
  • Review style and design to identify manufacturing feasibility concerns and support Manufacturing Functional deliverables, DFM best practice, assembly time targets, production quality targets.
  • Support virtual build reviews to validate new product content feasibility, process hard points and assembly sequence
  • Support complex problem investigation and resolution in line with required project milestones.
  • Identification and development of best practice principles within industry.
  • Validation of system feasibility using reference properties.
  • Communication at all levels across the organisation to provide feedback, updates and request actions as required.

About the Team
The Launch Quality Centre spans much of a vehicle’s product cycle; influencing early product design, through to building pre-series vehicles and on to problem solving until end of production. It is responsible for driving launch performance and series improvements.

About you – Skills and Experience

  • A strong working knowledge of Design for Assembly principles, including Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • A highly motivated and structured approach to identifying and resolving problems, in general. Being self-driven is a key aspect of the role.
  • Technical knowledge of component design, product assembly, process design, facilities and standardised work methods.
  • Experience of building strong collaborative and influential relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding of measurement systems and techniques
  • An appreciation of dimensional management analysis
  • A strong working knowledge of CATIA V5
