Role Overview: As a Business Development Manager, you will play an integral role in building and managing the firm’s strategic relationship in a key sector. Working closely with the Marketing & Business Development Director, you’ll drive the development and implementation of strategies to strengthen the firm’s ties with key government entities. • Strategic Client Planning: Develop a robust client plan by analysing client needs and identifying new business opportunities. Share insights across the team to foster strategic growth and bring innovative recommendations.
  • Client Relationship Development: Lead initiatives for deepening client connections, coordinating regular relationship meetings, and actively participating in strategic discussions to advance client objectives.
  • Pitch & Opportunity Management: Spearhead legal panel reviews and contribute to strategic pitches, partnering with global Pitches & Pursuits teams to ensure the alignment of submissions with relationship goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and report financial performance metrics, ensuring compliance with client requirements. Support financial reporting, profitability analysis, and alignment with client financial strategies.
  • Value-Added Services: Drive client engagement through value-added offerings, including innovative tools, training, pro bono efforts, and diversity initiatives. Collaborate with account managers across the firm to share best practices and introduce innovative solutions.
  • Client Feedback: Proactively gather and implement client feedback to continuously enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Essential: Proven experience in Client Development, ideally within a law firm, with strong capabilities in relationship management, business development, and marketing. Demonstrated financial acumen, particularly in Management Information reporting.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the government sector and experience working within professional services partnerships is highly advantageous.

Key Attributes:

  • Outstanding relationship-building and networking skills at all levels.
  • Strong communication abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and committed to delivering top-tier client service.
  • Adaptable, with a strong grasp of the legal marketplace and its business demands.

Equal Opportunities:

We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all employees and job applicants. In line with the Equality Act 2010, we strive to create and maintain a working environment in which all individuals are able to make the best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.
