**Contract Supervisor**

**Salary**: £31,235 - £42,948 per annum
**Hours**: 45 hours per week, 6.00am to 4.00pm
**Location & Postcode**: Central Bedford, MK41 0QS

As a Contract Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the planning, control, and supervision of staff and resources to ensure the effective collection of refuse and recycling throughout the district. You will play a key role in managing and supporting a team, ensuring contractual requirements are met while maintaining high standards of safety and service delivery.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

**What will you be doing?**
- Planning and organising daily tasks, crew deployment, and resource allocation to meet contractual obligations.
- Preparing and maintaining resource schedules to ensure labour, vehicles, and materials are available.
- Setting performance targets for crews and monitoring progress to achieve high standards.
- Ensuring completion and accuracy of all staff documentation, including defect reports, timesheets and schedules.
- Carrying out regular health and safety checks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Managing staff attendance, return-to-work interviews, and performance concerns.
- Maintaining effective client and contractor relationships.
- Supporting training and development of team members to drive performance and safety standards.

**What are we looking for?**
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage a large team.
- Previous operational experience, ideally in a unionised environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good planning, organisation, and time management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- A valid UK driving licence (LGV Class 2 desirable).
- Knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good IT skills and attention to detail.
