We are currently recruiting for an exciting position of Bar & Terrace Supervisor here at the Bedford Swan Hotel.

This is a fixed term position until the end of September.

42 contract hours per week with a possible ETO Salary including Tronc of £27,000

Shifts will vary each week and will include weekends

Set on the banks of the River Ouse and recently refurbished our terrace is a hot spot for locals to come and relax in the sun overlooking the Embankment and we are building a team that can comfortably create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. In addition to this, the hotel houses a further three bars which will fall under the remit of this role.

Often incredibly busy, the role requires someone who is confident in building rapport with people and can oversee a fast-paced operation to support the Bar & Terrace Manager to ensure all of our guests receive a brilliant experience. It is a necessity that you can focus and stay calm in a pressurised environment but still be passionate about great food, drink and customer service. An organised and fair approach to supervising and training a team is needed along with attention to detail to keep standards consistent.

The Bar & Terrace Supervisor position will need to be filled by someone who is flexible with working hours (available to work most weekends) and loves a customer facing position. Experience in a similar high paced multi bar environment is essential to this role.

The Bar & Terrace Supervisor role will include:

- Opening and closing terrace and bars, including management of stock and cash
- Supervising terrace and bar employees, ensuring they are well trained, confident in their roles and delivering consistently good service to all guests
- Controlling sections for staff to create smooth service
- Controlling stock of areas to create smooth service
- General organisation of terrace and bars - including cleanliness and health and safety
- Till reconciliation at the end of the day
- Controlling staff breaks and ensuring the floor and bars are fully staffed
- Good communication with kitchen team
- Maintaining levels of standards for service, uniform etc.
- Controlling payments throughout service
- Support of the Bar & Terrace Manager in stock ordering and management

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £24,300.00 per year
