In Regions Group we aim to improve outcomes for children, families and learners by accelerating system improvement and reform through active intervention and by better aligning the Department’s operations and users’ needs at a local and regional level.
We will:
- Bring together improvement and intervention work in Children’s Social Care, SEND and Schools as well as area-based programs like Opportunity Areas and Education Investment Areas
- Maintain the stewardship of the school system and, working with the Future ESFA, provide a unified voice to academy trusts and to individual Local Authorities at a local level
- Set DfE up to deliver for and respond more effectively to local needs and to understand how local contexts impact on children and learners in a place, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people.

The Regional Services Division sits within the Regions Group and our aim is to make it quicker and easier for schools and academies to belong to a strong trust, so that colleagues, teachers and leaders can focus on improving education.
Our division includes the Regional Digital Services programme, working in partnership with the Customer Experience, Digital & Technology (CXDT) directorate and with suppliers. We also have the Regional Casework Services team which undertakes transactional operational delivery activity on behalf of the group.
The Portfolio Delivery Support team is the enabling function within the division. We provide governance, finance, commercial, resource management and business change services, supporting the division to achieve its vision.

**Job description**:
The Portfolio Delivery Support Officer will play a key role in ensuring the Regional Digital Services programme is governed effectively and that the wider division operates smoothly.
This is brilliant opportunity to develop business administrative and project delivery skills, working across a variety of areas with different stakeholders.
You will spend the majority of your time on:
Business support and communications, including:
- Internal communications and events
- Supporting with stakeholder events and communications
- Maintaining communications products
- Inbox and diary management
Knowledge management, including:
- Managing the approach to storing, organising and naming documents consistently the division
- Maintaining documentation on ways of working and processes
- Coordinating knowledge sharing across the programme and wider division
Governance, including:
- Helping to ensure that plans, risk registers and other key programme documentation are up to date
- Coordinating reporting activity, including managing responses to adhoc requests for information
- Helping with board secretariat duties as needed

- Is motivated and can manage a varied workload.
- Can work at pace and respond flexibly to emerging priorities or urgent tasks.
- Has the confidence to make recommendations and understand when to escalate and seek the views of others.
- Has great communication skills.
- Is agile in their approach to working
