If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure (£31,411). Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£32,348).

**JOB PURPOSE**
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
You will assist the Director of AS&RU to
2. work alongside the University’s Research and Impact Services in developing links with external stakeholders and impact generating activity;
3. generally support partnership activities including organising an annual Departmental Partnership Day;
4. manage appropriate web pages and other external publicity that creates an awareness of the departments applied activities;
5. support industrial student projects on our MSc programmes, MMORSE programmes and, more generally, channel employer input in our curriculum or other employer contacts with our students;
6. develop relevant professional development and other events for business, finance, industry, and government which broaden our opportunities for building partnerships and technology transfer;
7. take on other relevant activities as requested by the Head of Department.

3. adopt a collegiate attitude to working in the department, supporting staff and students in the skills required in applied research;
4. take on other relevant activities as requested by the Director of AS&RU
